Q:  What are some of the different types of seafood?A: Well, everyone identifies fish as seafood, but there are actually many types of fish. Fish ranges from bass to halibut to sardines to salmon to tilapia and more. Another type of seafood is roe. Roe is basically fish eggs. Caviar is specifically sturgeon roe, but there is also salmon roe (ikura), herring roe (kazunoko), and others. Another type of seafood is shellfish. There are crustaceans like crab, lobster, shrimp, etc. And there are mollusks, like clams, conch, oysters, mussels, snails, scallops, squid, octopus, etc. Another type of seafood that is not often consumed in the United States is echinoderms like sea cucumbers and uni.
